Paper : Do the Right Thing
Using three specific examples in Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing, write a 5-paragraph essay in which you address the issue of race (and racism) in the film.
Your essay should be between 4-5 pages in length and have a strong thesis statement along with strong examples from the film itself.
Specifics:
• Utilize specific examples from the primary source (the film itself), as well as scholarly secondary sources (e.g., class notes, your textbook, and library databases).
Describe the scene itself and then discuss how it involves the issue of race. Then, address the scene in part of its larger cultural context.
• Your essay must contain MLA documentation of sources (both in-text and on a properly formatted Works Cited page)
• Your essay must be AT LEAST 4-5 pages in length (No less than 4!)
The essay must be word-processed, double-spaced, using size 12 Times New Roman font.
• Omit personal pronouns and opinions. This is an academic assignment.
