Homework: Research and Reflection Paper
Cultural awareness is an important part of counselor development. This assignment will allow you to explore some aspects of your own culture that may contribute to your desire to be a counselor, as well as the reason why cultural awareness is important.
Write a 700 to 1,050 words paper reflecting on your current level of cultural awareness.
Include the following:
i. Describe the cultural identities, values, and experiences that led you to consider a career in counseling.
ii. Explain why cultural awareness is important in counseling.
iii. Describe the role of culture in how people change.
iv. Describe ways to assess a client's perspective on culture.
Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
o The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
