1. Identify the purpose of a website or genre (e-commerce, self-service, educational, governmental service, etc.). Discuss the use of proprietary media and interaction technologies such as Flash, Active X, RealMedia, and QuickTime. Explain cascading Style Sheets (CSS) used to create a website.
2. Describe media acquisition tools and techniques for multimedia authoring, media acquisition tools and techniques to capture, digitize, and sample media contents. Discuss the issues involved in deploying and serving media content.
3. Discuss why validation issues are an important consideration in web page development. Compare and contrast web services tools such as Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP).
4. Describe the role of cookies with regards to security. Explore ways to increase the trustworthiness of a website such as security certificates. What is public key encryption? What is phishing? What is spyware? Describe other viruses? What is denial of service attacks? Give suggestions how to protect clients from viruses, spyware, and zombie processes.
5. Describe how the World Wide Web has given rise to the emergence of online communities. Debate the various ethical issues associated with the web, including freedom of speech, privacy, copyright and digital content rights. What are your views on collecting feedback about the user experience. Finally, compare the different types of social media channels.
6. Discuss current various database connectivity technologies. What services are provided by Web application servers? What is Extensible Markup Language (XML) and why it is important for Web database development. What is cloud computing and how it enables the database-as-a-service model?
