1. Describe the rise of Alexander the Great and his invasion of Persia. At a minimum include the battles of Granicus, Issus, Gaugamela and Hyphasis. Include Alexander's conquest of Egypt and his founding of Alexandria. Include Darius III, Bessus, Sogdiana, Roxane, and Barsine.

2. Describe the rise of Persia and Zoroastrianism. At a minimum include Cyrus the Great, Croesus of Lydia, Cambyses, Darius I, Xerxes, Artaxerxes, Darius II and III, Zarathustra, Ahura Mazda and Angra Mainyu, Avesta, Vispa and Saoshyant.

3. Describe the rise of the Etruscans and Early Roman Society. At a minimum include summaries on the Etruscan society, Etruscan women, Etruscan burial methods, Romulus and Remus, the seven kings of Rome, Lucius Tarquinis, Sextus and Lucretia, Patricians and Plebeians, and lastly the rise of Roman Republican government.

4. Describe the first two Punic Wars. At a minimum include descriptions of Carthage, Baal, Strait of Messina, the battles of Mylae, Cape Ecnomus, Lake Trasimene, Cannae, and Zama. Include Corvus (Crow), Marcus Regulus, Hamilcar Barca, Hannibal Barca, Hasdrubal Barca, and Scipio Africanus.

5. Describe the development of the Roman Empire. At a minimum include the First Triumvirate, Julius Caesar, Pompey, Crassus, Caesar's invasion of Gaul, the death of Crassus, the death of Pompey, Cleopatra and Caesar, and lastly the death of Caesar.
