Describe your role and scope of responsibilities. - Doctor Michelle Conklin is the Chief Medical Officer of Conklin-Rolle-Howell, LLP, a private medical practice in the Greater Miami, Florida area. CRH specializes in pediatric care, with emphasis on newborns, infants and toddlers. As the Chief Medical Officer, Doctor Conklin is responsible for setting the protocols for each physician, serve as the liaison between CRH and medical health insurers, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies; and develop the practice's strategic plan.

2) Describe the relationship between your health care organization's vision, mission, goals, and strategic plan. - We at CRH strive to provide the best medical healthcare possible for individuals just entering this world. We envision a world in which no child is sick, malnourished or deficient in any area. Our goal is to ensure young children under our care grow into healthy adults through proper nutrition, adherence to the necessary vaccinations and continuous health education.

3) Tell me about a time your organization's operational performance affected, either positively or negatively, its ability to deliver services and achieve performance goals. - During the hurricane season, we had incredible difficulty reaching the children we provide care for. Our resources were stretched to the max as we traveled throughout the South Florida region and beyond to reach them. The majority of the children we serve relocated with their families to other parts of the state. It didn't matter to us where they were; we still felt an obligation to serve them.

4) Describe the process you take to deliver a particular type of service offered by your health care organization. - We have partnerships with several local hospitals. When a child is born, a member from our practice is notified from one of the medical personnel from the hospital and the obstetricians. Our customer service representatives contact the parent(s) and explain the different types of services we can provide to their child(ren).

5) Describe one aspect of your business operations. - CRH spends the majority of its time conducting site visits for the families it serves.

1. Dr. Conklin is the ability to compartmentalize her personal feelings compromised when one of the children she provides care for has a terminal illness. - No because I know I have done my all and that I can not look at myself as a person that has the ability to say you lives and dies. I hurt to see children hurt and die, but I took an oath to make sure that I give quality care to all my patients.

2. How does she cope on a daily basis with the possibility of someone her agency cares for dies? - She is human and it does get to her sometimes, but she just tries to remember that as long as she communicates with the family and does all that she can do medically and by being a Christian that God has not called them to be with him.
