Describe the psychology of stereotypes and prejudice

Question 1: What is one aspect of "pop culture" that has a connection to the psychology of stereotypes and prejudice? What is the background of the concept and how is it relevant to the average American culture?

Question 2: Aging is a unique category by which people will be judged, insofar as most people imagine (and will) go through all stages of age-category stereotypes, whether they wish to or not. There is an inevitability of category-shifting, along with stereotype shifting. However, much of our judgments about "the elderly" is a consequence of looking at THIS CURRENT elderly population.

However, aging effects need not impact every generation in the same way (e.g., different prevalences of cigarette use, lead in water, war experiences, diet, etc.). What is one feature of the current elderly population that is endemic to all aging peoples? What is one feature that is particular to the current elderly population (but not for all future aging populations)?
