Problem: Post a response that addresses the following:
Identify your selected theorist and explain what attracted you to their theory. For example, you might discuss their philosophical view of the person and how they explain internal/external determinants of behavior or consistency of behavior across time and situations. (See page 17 in Cervone & Pervin, 2023.)
Explain which aspects of the theory are consistent with Freudian personality theory. Need Assignment Help?
Explain which aspects of the theory depart/divert from Freud's personality theory.
Explain how this theory could be applied in clinical practice. Be specific and provide examples.
Support your post with at least three scholarly, peer-reviewed sources from the library in addition to this week's Learning Resources.
To prepare:
Review the Learning Resources on psychoanalytic approaches to personality.
Select one of the psychoanalytic theorists presented in the readings other than Freud (e.g., Jung, Adler, Erikson, Klein, Horney) to use for this Discussion. Base your selection on how well their theory fits your beliefs about personality and its relevance for conceptualizing clients in your future clinical practice.
