I. Essay One : In no more than four (4) pages, please discuss the following: The human rights complaint process begins when a person makes a written complaint in both the Organization of American States and African Union.
You are advocating for a victim that is a member of a rural population that is an internally displaced population (IDP), and claiming a violation of human rights.
Identify a source(s) of law that would protect a person that is classified as part of the IDP. Describe the primary compliant procedures that a victim of human rights must adhere to in both systems, with respect to litigating human rights violations.
II. Essay Two : In no more than four (4) pages, please discuss the difference between the complaint process for complaints arising under the European Convention on Human Rights brought before the European Court of Human Rights and those arising under the other European human rights treaties that we discussed this semester and the enforcement/compliance monitoring bodies for those treaty regimes.
A complete analysis will include a discussion and comparison of compulsory jurisdiction and/or admissibility, conditions precedent to bringing a complaint and the binding (or non-binding) nature of the treaty bodies' findings and/or rulings.
