Piaget's theory of cognitive development during early the preoperational stage began at age two and lasts till age seven. This is where a child can use the idea of symbolic thinking and develop imaginative make-believe play. But during this time the child is unaware of what it means or if it's logical. There's also the lack of conservation and the lack of reversibility. This is where the child fails to understand quantities and that actions can be reversed.
