Problem: Describe the mode of inheritance of eye color in Drosophila melanogaster. How many genes/alleles do you know of? What mode of interaction can you deduce from the phenotypes they produce (e.g. do some interact in a dominant/recessive way, and/or are some co-dominant with each other?)? How do the proteins produced from the various genes/alleles interact (i.e., what is the biochemical pathway that the proteins interact in, and how they affect the phenotype alone and in combination?)?
