In the year 1910, Jane Banks was an eight-year-old girl who lived in a home on Cherry Tree Lane with her mother, father, younger brother, maid, and nanny. Cherry Tree Lane was in a wealthy neighborhood in London, England, with beautiful, single-family homes. In fact, one of Jane Banks' neighbors was Admiral Boom, who lived in a home that looked like a ship. Residents of this neighborhood had a culture of flying kites in the park on nice days. Jane's father worked as an investment banker at Fidelity Fiduciary Bank, and her mother was a women's rights activist. In 1935, when Jane was 33-years-old, she lived in an apartment in a different part of London, and took after her mother by working as an activist and women's labor organizer. (Credit to P. L.
