Sonia's dad came to school to pick up Sonia today due to her having a fever of 101.5. He travels a lot for work so this is the first time any of you have seen him. Dad appears to be from a Middle Eastern country. He speaks with a very thick accent. Sonia was playing by her friends in the dramatic play area. The children were taking turns "eating" the food. They would laugh after each person had a 'bite' of food. You noticed which toys would have to be cleaned as soon as the child put it down. Sonia did not want to go with Dad. She hit him and ran away when he tried to put her coat on her. Dad looked at you and asked what he should do.
In a 3 to 5 page paper, propose a health policy that would be beneficial for this example:
• Describe the importance of having such a policy and justify your particular health policy.
• Discuss in detail what you would say to dad's question about what he should do when she ran away.
• Elaborate on what you would tell dad about children's peer relationships at this age.
