The jobs following probation and parole officers are extremely difficult and often provide stressful situations. Not everyone is suited for such responsibility. Police officers and probations officers face constant issues. They are required to enforce certain rules, as well as follow them while maintaining an ethical behavior. Staying truthful is a daily requirement, informing their fellow officers of things they see and reporting events is key when it comes to ethics. They must not tell a lie or hide any evidence from one another. Facing a lot of work hours can often lead to problems in their personal life. Bringing stress into the equation can derail officers from staying ethical in their work environment. Leading them to mistreatment and lies.
Rickers Island was named for the man who purchased the land in 1664. Family owned for 20 years until it was sold to use as military training, and it was used during the civil war as proving grounds. Rickers island is famous for violence amongst the inmates. The land is used as a prison for criminals as well as the mentally impaired. in 2013 Rickers was ranked as one of the ten worst correctional facilities in the United States. Due to high volumes of rape, murder and neglect, from the inmates as well as the staff.
