Assignment
Based on what you now know about genetics, make a genetic tree of your family as far back as you can. Bring the map to the lesson where you will use it. Here is a blank tree and key. Once you have filled it in using the key, save it, and share it. This will allow you to email the tree to yourself. Then you can download it and print or save and submit to Moodle.
Task 1
Get outside, whether you are near the beach, mountains, desert, or river, you can observe geological features.
1. Choose a site to observe.
2. Describe the geological makeup of the site (be detailed, not just sand but describe all the features and makeup of the sand).
3. Analyze the feature to suggest what factors affected the feature (such as erosion) and caused it to change over time.
4. Take a picture of your observed site and submit with your description and analysis.
Task 2
1. Write a three page (double-spaced) paper on one of the following topics
- cryopreservation
- the development of a cyborg
- the ups and downs of GMOs in the food industry
- the genetic engineering of species to direct their evolution
- biofuel generation and processes
