For this forum, please read Chapter 3 (pp. 119-150). After reading, watch the video "Ethical Relativism" before you answer the following questions from Chapter 3:
1.) Describe the four major approaches to moral differences outlined at the beginning of this chapter. Which one comes closest to your own viewpoints? Explain.
2.) Discuss Ruth Benedict's claim that what is normal for a culture is what is moral in that culture - Discuss the advantages and problems associated with the theory of ethical relativism.
3.) Discuss James Rachels' three suggested universal values: Are they truly universal? Why or why not? Can you think of other universal values not mentioned?
Your answers should be posted by Saturday, September 9th by 5 p.m. In addition, you should respond to at least one (1) of your classmate's answers by Sunday, Sept. 10th at 10 p.m.
