1. Describe the four elements of the defense of duress. Explain how, depending on the requirements of different states, a defendant may or may not be able to use the defense of duress based on these four elements.
2. Explain why voluntary intoxication is no excuse for committing a crime but involuntary intoxication is. Do you agree or disagree?
3. What are the two major approaches to the entrapment defense? Which one do you think is best?
4. What impact did the acquittal of John Hinckley have on the insanity defense in the United States? Be sure to provide examples.
