You will need to find an article published in a newspaper. The article must have been published within the last two years. The rubric for this discussion board is found in Appendix D. The DB needs to address the following:
1. Describe the focus of the article published in the newspaper;
2. What aspects of the newspaper article are incorrect and/or correct? Specifically, did the article accurately represent published research (e.g., symptoms of ASD, prevalence of ASD, behaviors of displayed by individuals with ASD, etc.) or did the article make general or inaccurate statements. Be sure to support your statements with citations.:
3. Finally, discuss the pros and cons of popular publications (e.g., newspaper articles, magazine articles, etc.) versus scholarly scientific publications related to ASD.
4. Provide the complete reference and/or an active link for the newspaper article. Provide complete references for all other sources cited.
After you make your post and address the items above, you also need to read and comment on two other student's posts. Please select fellow students who do not already have had comments made regarding their study and discussion. You will not be able to see other student posts until you have submitted your own post.
