Describe the essential case for anthropology

Assignment Task:

Studying and applying anthropology can be exciting and multidimensional. Simply put, the discipline is used in every human context, from business to science, from policy to entertainment, to foreign service to medicine, from law and education to preservation and the humanities, and so many other field.

As a way of thinking, the anthropological mindset helps partitioners develop essential skills that are transferable to many career choices and life paths. Not only does studying anthropology/ethnography foster broad knowledge of other cultures, but it promotes skills in observation and analysis, critical thinking, clear communication, and also helps in applied problem-solving.

Cultural anthropology/ethnography/ethnology attempts to lessen toxic ideas like ethnocentrism, racism and xenophobia. The field helps us realize that in a globalized world, the skills of cultural and linguistic understanding builds bridges, rather than the impulse in certain quarters, to build walls.

Anthropology diminishes the idea that differences amongst others makes people "the other" and instead seeks to shed light on our common humanity.

Given these ideas and values are the essential case for anthropology (and Anthropology 201, The Nature of Culture), do you think there are things you've learned this semester that you can take and apply in your own life? If there were, what are they and how might you apply them.
