Problem: I believe that in this case the company needs to focus on profitability and put demand growth on the back burner. Once the business is well established and they have regular customers and can afford to move forward with demand growth then they should because if they focus on growth rather than stability and profits the interest rates in loans and the cost of getting raw materials can sink a business. Investments in technology could also be a great idea in this case, with more technology they can better track inventory and adjust orders to meet the needs of the business while not exceeding in order to not have over stock. I believe right now may not be the time to rethink product mixes but it sure would be a great time to rethink process and how things can be done in a more efficient way to increase profitability.
