Using non-recyclable packaging is against Amazon's pledge to save the environment and its promise to switch packaging. During a routine inspection of an Amazon Warehouse's packaging and shipping department in Los Angeles, they found that they did not replace the old packaging with the new recyclable packaging. The date to switch to recyclable packaging was over a month ago.
When the manager questions the supervisor on shift, he says they only heard that the packaging needed to change, but his manager did not give him a timeline for when and how the new packaging would be ordered and delivered. He then shares with the inspector that compliance with the company's pledge is not the #1 priority of the manager, who constantly says that the shipping demands should be lowered to focus on the new packaging right now.
