The following exercise is designed to familiarize you with the details of three primate species. Answer the following questions using Internet sources, information found in the textbook or you may use the library. Your internet sources should be scholarly or reliable sources (so no Wikipedia!). You can find a lot of really good information from websites like this:

A scholarly source is a peer reviewed journal article or book, written by a specialist in the field, and a reliable source is a reputable source, like National Geographic.
Procedure:
First provide a definition of the term "primate." Use material from chapter 5 to answer this question. Then you must pick three different species of primates, one from each of the following categories: Prosimians, New World Monkeys, and Old World Monkeys. Humans and apes are excluded from this exercise. Make sure to identify each primate by genus and species.
Next, write a one to four sentence description or statement for each of the primates for each of the eight following questions. This means a total of 25 responses on your part (1 for the definition and 24 for the answers to each question for the three primate species you choose).
What is the definition of a primate? (Use material from chapter 5 to answer this question)
1. Where in the world are these animals found in the wild?
2. What is their habitat like?
3. Describe any sexual dimorphism seen in these animals if it exists.
4. What type of locomotor pattern do these primates typically use?
5. What kinds of social groups do these animals typically form?
6. What kinds of food are found in these animals' diets?
7. What do we know about their reproductive lives?
8. Describe the relationship these primates have with humans, such as, do we hunt them, our use them for pets, or actively protect them? (This question is answered only once at the end of the paper. You do not need to answer this for each primate.)

Your answers should be in complete sentences. You must include citations and references to show me where you found your information. And you should be using appropriate terminology when answering these questions. These papers are worth 25 points each, so you will get one point for each correct answer. When you are done provide a list of sources you used to answer the questions.
