1. Describe the relationship of leadership to politics of the organization. Make sure to address given issues, along with presenting any other ideas about this concept that you find interesting:
(1) Your assessment of practicality of Dr. Kennedy's advice, in light of material presented in other readings (be specific in references). Any things which have changed, for better or worse, in last ten years, from her article until now. Anything about medical context which makes it problematical trying to apply her ideas in other places, like, perhaps, your organization.
(2) Your overall thoughts on management of power in social relationships, and balance of personal vs. organizational responsibility for doing this management (note- there is no "one right answer" here, but when you have stated the conclusions, keep in mind that you require to back up the argument with facts).
(3) What, if anything, does thinking about the "organization as political system" add to what we have learned by thinking about the "organization as machine", the "organization as organism", the "organization as brain", and an "organization as a culture"? As this course is organized about utility of various metaphors, this last item is particularly significant to attend to.
