The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate course learning outcomes, including the role of performance management in creating organizational effectiveness and employee performance standards.

Students will work as a virtual team to research and create   a performance management process for the company Nurse Next Door. For this project, consider that your team has been hired by one of Nurse Next Door's franchise owners to create   a performance management program. In addition, consider that this company operates in a virtual environment with employees working remotely and not in an office environment. Use the performance management process learned in the course to design the program.

Assignment Instructions:

1. Research and describe the organizational strategy and work culture of Nurse Next Door. Don't just cut and paste from the website, do some research and explain what they do  and why and how they are unique in their industry. What are the work culture and environment? What is it like to work there? Refer back to Chapter 3 of the textbook for more information on performance management and strategic planning. You can do primary (talk to people who work there) research or secondary (read about the company).

2. Design and describe your recommendations to the franchise owner for how to manage the performance of the virtual team. Ensure your description incorporates the core components of the performance management process learned in this course and adapted to a virtual setting. At a minimum, these components include setting expectations (chapters 4 and 5), assessing and providing feedback (chapter 6) and development (chapter 8).
