Part A-
Please write about this time in your life in which you experienced culture shock. Include as much detail as you can remember, including the following topics. You do not have to number your answers.
1. The specific environment in which you experienced culture shock. Was there a "triggering event" (like going to Germany, or move-in day to Penn State)? Or did it slowly creep up on you, that feeling that this is not the way we do things at home?
2. How did you feel?
3. Did you ever get over the culture shock?
4. Did you change any of your behaviors? If so, describe one or two changes you made. In what ways did you change them? If you did not change any behaviors, what factors led to this decision?
5. In a separate paragraph, in about 2-3 sentences, in your own words, please define "culture shock."

1. Describe one or two ways in which this subculture differs from your own.
