PPT Assignment: Religion and intercultural understanding
Length: 5 to 8 slides.
Consult at least one professional or scholarly source on the traditions of a religion other than your own. Summarize these traditions; reflect on them using your own personal experience. Relate all this to one theme of intercultural understanding (For example, you may had a chance to visit a country with the religious tradition you chose. You can discuss a culture shock you experienced or compare the observations you made with media stereotypes you encountered before your travel).
How to do it:
1) Conduct research using scholarly and/or professional sources on the religious tradition you chose.
2) Start writing, preparing slides or making a video by describing the major beliefs and practices you found.
3) Describe how these values affect the way of life of followers of that religion.
4) Offer your own reflections on what you learned, integrating your own religious experience or traditions as well as observations from your own encounter with the chosen tradition.
5) Reflect on what your analysis and reflections mean for intercultural understanding.
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
(1) The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
(2) The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
(3) Also include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
