Problem:
A biofilm is a community of microbial cells that is enclosed in an extracellular polymeric substance. This slimy substance allows for the bacteria to have greater chances of survival and growth by providing an ideal environment for them to attach. While most infections are associated with biofilms, not all are harmful, and some can even be beneficial.
How varied O Lord, are your works! In wisdom you have made them all - the earth full of your creatures. Behold the sea, wide and vast, teeming with countless creatures, living things both great and small. Psalm 104:24-25
