Assignment: Annotated Bibliography
Utilize the mental disorder categories from DSM-5 to do an annotated bibliography on current research (within the last five years) on two disorders derived from the following list of mental disorder categories:
o Neurodevelopmental disorders
o Neurocognitive disorders
o Schizophrenia spectrum and other disorders
o Depressive disorders
o Bipolar and related disorders
o Anxiety disorders
o Trauma- and stressor-related disorders
o Obsessive-compulsive and related disorders
o Somatic symptom and related disorders
o Eating disorders
o Sleep disorders
o Personality disorders
As part of choosing scholarly journal articles for the literature review, you will use the following subtopics in determining what articles to use.
o Describe from the origins or history of the mental disorders.
o Describe the psychological theory or theories that relate to the mental disorders, especially in the areas of diagnosis and treatment.
o Describe the difference, if any, in age of onset and diagnostic criteria based on gender.
o Explain the potential impact of the mental disorders on the individual and his or her family.
o Explain the social perceptions of the mental disorders from stigma to advocacy.
Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
o The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
