After reviewing Chapter 3: Advocacy and Social Justice, please reflect on the following questions:
A. What are the multicultural counseling competencies and standards described in Chapter 3? List and summarize each competency? Discuss your viewpoint of why each competency and standard is necessary to provide effective treatment.
B. Social Injustice is inclusive of all of the -ism as stated in Chapter 3. Describe the difference between privilege, oppression, sexism, and racism. Give an example of how both have shown up or were displayed in your life.
C. What is critical consciousness? Why is it important? How does this concept affect your ability to advocate for your client and profession?
