So far you have had the opportunity to read and learn about specific theoretical approaches to marriage and family therapy, ethical codes/guidelines, and genograms. You have also read the Govor (2017) article as well as Chapter 16 download from Tan (2022) which both specifically address faith in the context of family therapy. After carefully considering the perspectives of these texts, follow the prompt directions as you reflect on the Govor (2017) article's "common problems."
The quiz content does not have to be formatted as an APA Style paper (i.e., abstract, running head, page numbers, etc. are NOT required). However, citations and references should be included in APA Style. This is a personal reflective assignment, and first-person language may be used. Your work should be "graduate level" work, meaning that you should respond in a narrative style, using complete sentences and full paragraphs. While the focus is on your personal perspective, you should provide the scholarly/biblical source(s) for authoritative statements which have informed your point of view, which may include sources from previous courses (e.g., COUC 506). 1) The Govor article, beginning on page 175, describes 4 "common problems" with which families struggle. Take a few minutes to reflect on these "common problems". What is your reaction to what is written here from your own perspective as a person and as a clinician? Consider the "common problems" and talk about how you might encounter these things in a clinical setting, and how you might balance personal faith, and professional and ethical obligations in your work with clients and families.
