It could be argued that there are many problems facing the environment such as global warming and in order for companies to be considered good corporate citizens, governments across the world should introduce legislation to mitigate the impacts of business activities on both the environment and also the social fabric of society If these regulations were enacted, then this could have a negative impact on the profitability of businesses in the short term but ultimately could be seen as a positive way forward to preserve the environment and other aspect of society.
