This reflection paper is not to be an autobiography paper, think of this paper is a ethnography of a culture. It's a paper about cultural values, beliefs, and communicative factors of you and your culture .
A- provide an introduction to your own cultural background ( Chinese Immigrant / Became citizen of America/family is a typical Asian culture) by writing about the major cultural influences on your value system and the ways in which these were first challenged or reinforced by exposure to other cultures( 3 pages)
1- what would be your response to this question: what is your culture?
2- What does it mean to be American? A Chinese American ?
3- the difference of being a Chinese and an American
4- what helps you realized what you value and why?
B- Describe a specific cultural learning experience in which you encountered ( I was the only Asian kid in middle school in NJ, had the same lunch for the whole year because I couldn't speak for a different meal)(Other kids were making fun of my accent) (had received help from a Taiwanese teacher who were teaching Chinese at that school) . What helped you to gain insight of American culture, and identify the culture factors that contributed to the learning experience.
