Assignment:
Students will complete a 4 to 5 page (excluding title and reference pages), double-spaced paper where they apply at least two counseling theories and their techniques to their work with a K-12 student. In the paper, describe a hypothetical person (can be one from pop culture film/tv/music) or a real friend/family member (no personal identifying information) and include the following sections in the paper:
• Identification of issues/challenges
• Rationale for choice of theories (Why is each appropriate for this student?)
• Description of techniques applicable to a school setting (within each theory you referenced above such as Reality, Adelerian, Person- Centered, etc.) that may be most appropriate for the individual
• Multicultural Considerations when using the chosen theories
• Possible limitations to using your chosen theories.
