Describe a context and apply it to an interpretation - use

Guidelines:

When answering the essay question, make sure to have a basic organizing claim and develop your points in an organized manner through paragraphs. Review the "rubric" I will give you toward the end of the semester to help develop your essay in strong ways. Please identify the letter of the prompt you so that I know which one you are answering.

Use DIRECT QUOTES to help support interpretations (or specific details of a scene if referring to a movie). especially when integrating your close reading.

MLA Format and Citation: Make sure to follow basic MLA Format when writing your paper. The paper should be double-spaced, typed in Times New Roman 12pt. font, have I" left/right margins, and a basic heading. You can find the basics of MLA Format at the OWL Purdue website. Your papers will go through the "tumitin.conr plagiarism filter, so make sure to cite any sources you might be using carefully.

Write a letter (don't have to send it!) to a high school English teacher in which you explain to her/him why s/he SHOULD or SHOULD NOT be teaching two specific versions or adaptations of fairytales we have read this semester.

Discuss the reasons each may or may not be good ways for students to address issues important in their specific context.

During your evaluation, you must also

1. Describe a context and apply it to an interpretation

2. Use a close reading of a quote to get at a deeper symbolic meaning,

3. Use a quote and meaningful question to help you discuss something you think our community, and high school students in particular, should be discussing,

4. Relate form to content, and

5. Refer to a specific experience in your life to illustrate the importance.

You will do all of this while focusing on a specific theme.4 pages, double space, 12 font, 1' margin

Follow my outline below and the Rubric

To write the letter to a high school English, explain two different visions of Little Red Ridding Hood first. By compare Paul Delarue's "the Story of the Grandmother" and the Brother Grimm's " Little Red Cap". Suggest the high school teacher use Grimm's version.

Because based on Terri Windling's interpretation, "Story of the Grandmother" has some symbols that are hard for a high school student to understand.

For instance, path of needles and pins means sexual maturity (needles) or courting for marriage (pins).

And then, Compare "Frozen"(Disney movie) and "the Snow Queen". Suggest high school teacher to use "Frozen".

THE SNOW QUEEN A TALE IN SEVEN STORIES FIRST STORY which deals with a mirror and its fragments
