Kofinas, Tsay, and Pike (2025) describe how generative AI has put authentic assessments under pressure and stress the need to rethink tasks to foster higher-order thinking. Similarly, Bittle and El-Gayar (2025) argue that explicit policies and clear guidelines for skill development are necessary, as detection tools alone will not suffice.
