Problem
Parents often try to reward behaviors their kids do so those behaviors will increase, and punish behaviors they want their kids to stop doing. Sometimes they reinforce behaviors that they do NOT want their kids to do. Please relate a situation in which you saw parents reinforce and/or punish a child's behavior and the consequences. Demonstrate your new knowledge of behaviorism by using the correct terms for the components of operant conditioning, including: positive and negative reinforcement, positive and negative punishment, shaping, generalization, discrimination, and extinction.
