Problem
i. Understand the concept of justice and the kinds of questions it raises about global economic justice.
ii. Understand the nature and extent of poverty and hunger in the developing world.
iii. Be able to explain the difference between a negative right and a positive right.
iv. Know how libertarian, consequentialist, and egalitarian theories of justice apply to the plight of the world's poor and hungry.
v. Demonstrate understanding of Singer's argument for obligations to the poor and Hardin's lifeboat argument for not helping the world's needy, and critique both using the theories studied in this course.
