What do you give up for the government to do so (money, personal choice, other)? What do you gain (protection)? Then, choose one of the following issues (or another controversial public health issue) to examine in your Discussion posting: tobacco control, vaccinations, quarantine, well fracking, or body scans at airports.
1. Post a summary of the issue you selected including how the issue demonstrates the conflict between individual rights and society's needs.
2. Identify the government agency-specific to your issue-that is in charge of protecting the public and what methods the agency employs to protect its population.
3. Explain whether in this case you, as a public health professional, support the individual's rights or the public's needs and why.
