1. After reading the Constitution (without the Bill of Rights), had you been alive in 1787, would you have supported the Federalists or Anti-Federalists party, and why? (Definition for Federalists and Anti-Federalists will be given in lecture, but feel free to research it on your own if you'd like. How do you see the events from the lead up to the American Revolution influencing the 10 Amendments in the Bill of Rights? Need Assignment Help?

2. Do a bit of research on the web, and find one of the plant or animals the Corps of Discovery found and possibly a specimen they sent back to Jefferson. Post a picture of the plant or animal and give a bit of info about it, its name common and scientific, natural habitat, and explain why you think the Corps of Discovery believed it was worth writing about or even sending back to Jefferson.

3. Select one of the authors discussed in this week's lecture. Find a short work of theirs (either a short story or a poem) and read it. Post the item you read (or a link to it) on your discussion board. Detail the following: Explain which author you chose and why; What you liked and/or did not like about the work; and Why you think this work is a "distinctly American" piece of literature.
