Excellent post; I liked how you defined true empathy and the connection with Christianity. Religion has a strong power such as faith and plays a significant role with clients and mental health. Faith is a powerful resource to an individual despite the religion. As a social worker it is essential to use active listening techniques, but also be empathetic and not judgmental, in that moment of need the client needs to be heard and understood.
