Amino acids are utilized in the liver to form plasma proteins like serum albumin, serum globulin, prothrombin and fibrinogen. Amino acids, not required in the body, are deaminated in the liver. The nitrogenous part is converted into urea and excreted in the urine. The remaining part is used to provide energy and heat or deposited as fat.
