Define the research design strategy you plan to use for

Assignment 1: Research Design Strategies

In this module, you were introduced to several applied research design strategies. The module provided tools to help you select a design strategy and explained designs that are used for a particular purpose, such as evaluation, action, and change.

Tasks:

In a minimum of 300 words, post to the Discussion Area your responses to the following:

• Define evaluation and action research.

• Compare evaluation and action research.

• Describe at least one specific type/example of evaluation research.

• Describe at least one specific type/example of action research.

Support your rationale and analysis by using at least two resources from professional literature in your response.

Professional literature may include the Argosy University online library resources, relevant textbooks, peer-reviewed journal articles, and websites created by professional organizations, agencies, or institutions (websites ending in .edu or .gov).

Assignment 2: Choosing a Research Design Strategy

The purpose of this assignment is to select a research design strategy for your applied research project. This assignment will be used to help you develop a draft for your prospectus. All scholars must select the most appropriate research design strategy to conduct their studies.

This assignment will allow you to clearly describe the process used to select your research design strategy, identify the research design strategy you plan to use, and explain why it's best suited for your study.

Your paper should include the following components:

• On the basis of the problem you described in Module 1, describe the purpose of your applied research study.

• Describe the setting or subjects selected for your study.

• List the research questions that will guide your study. These are questions that must be answered to evaluate the problem or propose a solution.

• Define the research design strategy you plan to use for your study and justify why it is the best choice for your research design.

A Word of Caution: Generally, three to four research questions are needed to determine the answer to your overall research question/objective (reflected in your title).

If you have only one research question, that is your overall objective, and you have not yet broken it down into the specific requirements needed to answer the question. If you have more than five research questions, your study may be too complicated (topic should be narrowed) or you may be confusing survey/interview questions for research questions.

Your paper will be a Microsoft Word document, 2-3 pages long (not including the title and reference pages), utilizing at least three professional literature resources in your response. Professional literature may include the Argosy University online library resources, relevant textbooks, peer-reviewed journal articles, and websites created by professional organizations, agencies, or institutions (websites ending in edu. or .gov).

Your paper should be formatted following current APA standards; should be written in a clear, concise, and organized manner; should demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources; and should display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
