For career day at the local high school, you have been chosen by the department to make a presentation to a computer science class on the use of computer technology in police work. The teacher has asked you to focus on the way the increased speed of communications from computers assists law enforcement in its mission.
"My students are very interested in how the speed of communications provided by the Internet helps police disseminate missing person bulletins or wanted posters, how computers are used in the field by police to check things like drivers' licenses and license plates, and how databases like IAFIS make positive identification a snap," the teacher said.
