Question 1. Our text supposed that employees may exhibit problem behaviors in the workplace as a result of situational stressors which may or may not be dependent on substance abuse. Discuss the differences between substance abuse and situational stress. Does either one affect leadership or interfere with work performance and job duties?
Question 2. Someone with a borderline personality disorder can be very impulsive and have difficulty maintaining and respecting boundaries with many. Discuss how this disorder, if occurring in an individual with leadership duties, could be destructive and generate serious and enduring effects on the individuals he or she leads.
Question 3. As an EMS leader, it is critical that one recognizes personality disorders and their effects on an organization. Explain how these types of disorders could affect the goals and objectives of an organization.
Question 4. According to our text, which type of personality disorder describes people with a tendency to think very highly of themselves and usually exaggerate their achievements and talents? Thoroughly define this personality disorder and explain strategies EMS leaders should use when dealing with employees with this disorder.
