Define in your own words the meaning of "development" generally, and more specifically "economic development". Survey and discuss the problems faced by less-developed countries (LDCs), including an assessment of the efforts that have been made - by both developed countries (DCs) and LDCs - to stimulate economic development in the last seventy years since the end of World War II. Discuss what you see as the most promising future path(s) to development over the next fifty years.
