Define gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis

Problem:

Question 1: Define gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis. If an individual had very low blood glucose levels how would this affect each of these processes and why?

Question 2: Like many other tool kit genes, Hox genes encode transcription factors. While not all transcription factors have homeodomains, they all contain protein domains that perform essentially the same function as a homeodomain. Why is this particular protein function critically important to creating the tightly controlled patterns of gene expression regulated by genes in developmental tool kit?

Could someone help to explain the answer of these questions.
