Discussion Post: Define Deductible, Copayment & Coinsurance
We have learned that one of the reason for increase healthcare cost is because patient bear a very small percentage of the actual cost for their health care bill. One way to increase patient's awareness is by increase the sharable cost to the patient in form of deductible, copayment or coinsurance.
• Define deductible, copayment and coinsurance.
• Do you think that there is an imbalance of information between health professionals and patients that causes patients to accept the need for diagnostic tests and procedures that are ordered for them? Or some patient just simply don't care because their insurance cover most of them? Have you ever question a test or procedure being ordered?
