For this discussion, first, read chapter 9 in your textbook, Transcultural Concepts in Nursing Care and Culturally sensitive communication in healthcare: A concept analysis.
Then, address the following questions:
• What cultures, other than your own, do you encounter in your workplace?
• Do you have any education within communication? If so, what?
• Define communication in your own words.
• How do you communicate with patients who speak a different language from you?
• How do you meet the patients' personal desires in combination with their cultural or traditional needs within your work?
• What would you say are the greatest challenges of transcultural communication?
