When 10cm3 of a gaseous hydrocarbon CaHb was exploded with an excess of oxygen, a contraction of 35cm3 occured (all volumes are measured at rtp). On treatment of the product with NaOH solution, a contraction of 40cm3 occured. Deduce the formula of the hydrocarbon.
