Schmalleger (2015) discusses how police, prosecutors, judges, and corrections officials complain that "their efforts to uphold the law garner unfair public criticism". He goes on to state that realities "are often overlooked by critics of the system who have little experience in dealing with offenders and victims".
Question 1. Do people give unfair criticism because they do not really know what they are talking about? What about those of you who work in the criminal justice system, --do you agree with the textbook's comment? Also, what about those who do not work in the criminal justice system, do you feel qualified to criticize it?
