Question 2. Competition is one tool used to help motivate global teams. Competition can be both a good and a bad thing for teams. Yes, competition can set up barriers and arguments between members. On the other hand competition can get products and services done faster. It you have design teams in China and the US competing for the completion and production award you may well get a better product quicker because of competition.

Any thoughts here about the negatives of setting up different teams to compete with each other?

Question 3. For a global management team, are there some good suggestions as to how to handle the necessity to communicate 24 hours a day and still maintain your sanity?
